Ryan

This kid always rides

Ryan is one of those kids who can do just about anything off flat ground. He can almost bunnyhop barspin, almost tailwhip, bunnyhop x-up, and much much more. He has been riding a whole lot lately too which is definatly a plus.

The Interview

What is your name?
Ryan
Where do you live?
Um, well, Geneva Illinois
Are you a good student?
Can we skip that?
If you could change BMX, what would you change?
Uh, this is a hard one, uh, to be better [laugh] No, uh,there's really nothing. I dunno, maybe riders could have more of an interaction, like you see a rider at a skatepark and its just kinda like yaknow, hey, there's another rider. I want it to be more like yaknow, hey what's up how you doin more like casual and stuff

Heaven or Hell?
As in my whole life, I'd say heaven. Um, yeah, I think so

Have you ever been in trouble with the law?
Yes
Could you please explain that?
I was having a fight with my Step-Mom and I ran away and I got caught and the cops said if I did that again I'd go to juvie.
Who is your biggest influence?
My biggest influence would have to be Mike just because I'm alway with him and he's always pushing me to do stuff. The person who got me started was probably, um, I guess you could say my ex-stepdad. My Mom just got divorced from him. He was the first one to take me to the track and I saw how cool it was and from there it just kind of went
What was the last trick you learned?
What was the last trick that i learned? Tiregrab? I think It was I like never tried them.
What do your parents think about your riding
Um my dad always says like "I will support you in what ever you do" but he doesn't really think it is that great like trevors football or when i was in base ball. And then my step mom ever since I got hurt trying that barspin my step mom doesn't like it at all.
What would you be doing if BMX was not existant?
Drugs probably [laugh] just kidding um probably Skateboarding or actually scootering with Mike. Yeah, probably scootering Mike and I were getting good like double tailwhips like one time I did a tailtap to tailwhip to tail tap I mean we learned how to do a lot of stuff that got transfered in to BMX like fufanus and stuff.
What is your favorite trick?
My favorite trick which I think is probably the coolest trick in BMX is a flip whip. My Favorite trick to do is a, um, I don't know. Umm I like crank flips a lot. I need learn them a lot better though. I do like one handers a lot, x-ups yeah probably x-up's they are probably the simplest trick out there but they are still so fun to just crank a nice x-up.
You took a break for a long time what was up with that?
Well actually my doctor said after I severly sprained my ankle that I still shouldn't be riding but I said too bad got my brace and started to ride again. I am actually supposed to be in physical therapy twice a week and they wanted me to have surgery to tighten up the ligaments in my ankle.
Where do you work?
I work at My Panera Bread in St. Charles.
How long have you been in BMX?
How long have I been in BMX? I am asking you? Can I phone a friend? Oh, um, I don't know. Probably about two years ago.
Is there a quote that you live by?
None really
Is there one you want to live by?
Not Really. Well I guess live life to its fullest.
