Dan Hits a Tree

Ok, so this is it. I was mountain biking (yes, I mountain bike also) in a forest by myself on a beautiful day. I was having an awesome day. I was making it up all the hills perfectly and jumping the doubles like I had been doing it all my life. So, I was coming up on a hill that I had already made it up already that day and I had to put my foot down about halfway up. I was pissed so I walked my bike back down the hill and went for another try. I was super intent on getting up the hill that I didn’t see the tree trunk that laid above the trail about 5 feet. It was about 6 inches in diameter so it wasn’t something that you would hit and you would be fine. Normally I would just duck and all would be good, but not that day. I was so determined to make it up that I didn’t even see it coming. Before I knew it I was on the ground knocked out for a few seconds and I woke up and I thought that I had broken my neck. All I thought about was I really hope that I’m fine. I had hit the tree and dented my helmet pretty bad and got a big bruise on my head right above my nose. When I hit the tree it peeled me off my bike backwards but I was going so fast that I still ended up about 7 feet in front of the tree trunk. My neck bent back horribly and I was in a lot of pain. I finally got up carefully and walked my bike out of the trails and went to the hospital. They gave me an x-ray and a cat scan because I might have had a concussion. In the end I had a big bruise on my forehead and I sprained my neck. I have had ways too many injuries this summer
